Fireproof

Postby Sirena on Sat Oct 04, 2008 3:36 pm

My mother -in-law called today and pretty much told my husband that he has to see the new movie Fireproof. Not a "oh, you have to see this movie" but pretty much a demand. She doesn't know the amount of time he has spent gaming, but feels that it would do him good. I have read about the movie and I have seen the trailer. It addresses the self-centeredness in marriage through the man's work (I think). But, it could easily be through gaming. We plan to see it, but he leaves for a week tomorrow.

It is only in theaters for a short time and will be out on video in January. I would encourage all couples to see this movie...especially our widows and their gamers. ^^

That is crazy. My mother in law called and insisted that we see it too. She doesn't know the extent of our problems and we haven't discussed things with her, but I think she has started to pick up on some subtle hints. She said it would do us good.

My son who is a former WOW gamer (doing great in college now...a sophomor!) took his girlfriend to see it last night.

I haven't heard his review yet...

Its suppose to be an interesting movie but I don't think it is out here where I am. I could check though.
I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.

The storyline of this movie is awesome, especially for those dealing with porn addiction. The acting maybe wasn't the BEST, but the story itself outdid the awkward acting segments of the movie.

My DH is a firefighter; so, that aspect of the movie was cool, too. DH actually went with me to see the movie. It was kind of like his little "token" so that he could play his game that night, but whatever.... He got the message of the movie even if he didn't want to really "get" it and abide by it.
