Widow's Corner Article Submission Guidelines

If you are interested in sharing your story, GamerWidow.com would love to hear from you! We are looking for article submissions for the months of July and August to feature in our Widow's Corner section of our website. This section is a place for our members to share their stories with one another, and to give outsiders a better insight into the life of a Gamer Widow(er). This is a great opportunity for anyone who has wanted to share their experiences of being a Gamer's 'Other Half' and we look forward to hearing from you!

Submission Guidelines

Articles should be between 500-1500 words in length. You do not have to use your real name. You can use your screen name or an alternate name as the author. All other names in the article can be changed as you see fit to protect an individual's identity. Articles should be well written, and be sure to separate your story into short paragraph's so that it is easily readable on the web.

Formatting Articles

When writing an article, you don't need to worry about HTML formatting as we will reformat each article to fit in with the rest of the site. The final article may be in Microsoft Word, RTF, HTML, Plain Text, or simply within the e-mail itself.

Photos/Artwork

You can submit artwork or photos along with your article, but it is not required. Photos should be in jpg format, and artwork can be in either gif or jpg format. If submitting artwork, it should be original and/or artwork that you have received express permission from the artist or artists to use. For example, you can include your avatar if you would like with your article. If any copyright is needed to be mentioned in your article, please make note of it within your submission.

Contact Information

We do not require you to use your real name for your article, but we do require you to submit your RL Name, Mailing Address, and E-mail along with your article. This information is strictly for GamerWidow.com's use only and will not be given out to any other parties. We care about your privacy, but for legal issues we require that you include your RL information in order for us to be able to publish your article online.

Submitting Your Article

Submitting an article is easy! If your article consists of several files (text portion and images), you'll need to zip up all the files into one file using a program such as Winzip or Drop Stuff. If your article is a single text file or HTML file, you can submit it as is. Also, please title your e-mail "Widow's Corner: (the title of your article submission)."

Send all submissions as an e-mail or e-mail attachment to:

widowscorner@gamerwidow.com

What Happens Next

We will send you a confirmation letting you know that we received your Widow's Corner Submission. If you do not receive a confirmation within the week, feel free to submit your article again. Sometimes e-mails have a tendency to not always go through.

Next, we will review your submission. Articles may be edited for grammar or spelling errors, but if there are any larger editing problems we will contact you and let you know what needs to be changed in order for your submission to be featured in Widow's Corner.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting your article to GamerWidow.com, you are granting to us a permanent, non-exclusive license to use the article in any format we deem appropriate, with the assurance that you will always be given full credit for your work, and that you will retain full ownership of it. If you are planning on submitting your article to other websites, we ask that you inform us of your intent, and that you not allow other sites to post the article until it has appeared on GamerWidow.com for at least 30 days. At this time, GamerWidow.com does not offer compensation for articles published on our website. Article submissions are voluntarily submitted by the author/writer to be featured online.
