Video Games - not good for people?

Postby shirley on Tue Apr 10, 2012 2:26 am

I love that question. It is usually a topic of discussion among those who like to criticize video games, and nothing more, letting their peers know that games are good for one purpose, "a brain rot." What? Show me the statistics that explain, in specific detail, that videogames are the cause of the "rotting people's brains." I think this stereotype is all derived from the fact that video games carry with it an element that all other forms of entertainment do not: interactivity. The result of this interaction, the fact that do more than passively involved, people have worried. But it still does not make sense. Did you ever hear people mentioning that movies are bad for you because it is not good for the brain? Comments in this regard. The answer is obvious - probably not. The same goes for virtually any other form of entertainment. Again, not just obvious to me.

Let's break things up a bit more. Let's face it, people have this stereotypical image of children sitting on a couch, and basically it seems nothing but a bunch of zombies. You know, you're right in front of your TV in a dark room, eyes wide open, http://www.ecwant.com/ China sources - what kind of image. Not good. Now let's return to film for a second. What is the main source of action that is being done with the movie? So, looking at the TV screen, or in some cases, your local movie screens. So why do not we have a stereotyped image of hundreds of people in our local cinema, in a dark room, eyes wide open all the appearance of zombies? The answer: I have no idea!

There may be one thing that has caused this stereotype in particular, and that could be the amount of time that some games are played in one session. Although this may be true, there is still a crucial factor in who doubts this assertion - that the answer is television. It is not uncommon to see someone watch television for hours at a time. Again, the only action taken at the same time watching television is passive spectators. Well, you might be able to factor in changing channels like some action, but that's not the point.

Regardless of where this stereotype comes from video games, regardless of where it originated, there is no denying the fact that still exists. Even today, unfortunately, is very much alive. It's changing though. Recently, a new system was released that you may have heard, the Nintendo Wii. The interface of the Wii control is very different from what you find in a traditional video game system. Its main premise is based on the movement. This means that the games you've played around waving their arms, and in some cases, your entire body. This is where Wii Fit comes in, the next version available for the Nintendo Wii that has you moving the whole body around. The introduction of movement based on the interaction is beginning to penetrate the "conscience of the game." As a result of this "penetration" is helping to break down, layer by layer, all the negative stereotypes that have been associated with the gaming industry for too long.

The breakdown of these "negative layers" is actually what the industry as a whole, focuses on. It is a strange thing, because I can almost guarantee that people who do not criticize the industry for this sort of thing are usually the ones who do not know anything about it. Like all things in life, you have to try to find the balance. Whether you are playing games, watching TV or listening to music, just does not matter. Therefore, they are video games good for people? Personally, I think that's completely false. Conversely, video games can be something that brings joy, fun and excitement. The decision, although it is not mine - That response is reserved for each individual, nothing more and nothing less.

I am sorry, this variant does not approach me. Perhaps there are still variants?
